Send it yourself or have our team run the send — same rate. Texting setup: $99 one time per committee — covers your 10DLC brand and campaign registration and Campaign Verify, taken from your messaging balance when you submit; we walk you through it. Line fee: $19 a month for your texting number, plus $3 a month for any additional number you hold. Prepaid balance: a text campaign send is charged when it starts, for every number on it that hasn't opted out, whether or not each text is sent or delivered; top-ups start at $100, and balances are non-refundable and used only for your campaign's messaging. Voter file: bring your own at no charge, or buy a fresh district file at member pricing.
First-month example — November 2026
For illustration: your first month on Operative is November 2026, you hold one texting number in November, and one campaign send starts after texting approval that month. The send has one version, one SMS segment per text, and 1,000 people on its list who have a phone number and haven't opted out when it starts.

The campaign charge applies whether or not each text is sent or delivered. Replies, opt-outs and automatic answers are charged separately at the same rates; email and other purchases are not included here.
The plan is billed monthly through Stripe. The setup, line and campaign charges total $138 and come out of your prepaid messaging balance. Amounts are before any tax. This is a charges example, not a checkout or top-up quote. Starting with no balance or credit line, one $100 top-up does not cover these $138 in charges. Top-ups start at $100. An automated send needs enough balance, plus any credit line extended to you, to cover its start charge and an allowance for replies, shown before you send. That reply allowance is not included in the $638 subtotal.

Why not just use a general AI chatbot?

Can I use my own voter file?
Yes — import it once and every tool cuts from it, de-duped automatically. It stays yours and exports anytime.
Does Renegade actually send my texts and emails?
Yes. Email sends through managed infrastructure with one-click unsubscribe and automatic suppression. For texting, your committee completes a one-time carrier verification (Campaign Verify + 10DLC). Renegade’s own carrier registration is already done, so most of the wait is Campaign Verify and carrier review — and we walk you through both. Then blast SMS, photo MMS, GIFs, and video texts.
Can volunteers use it?
Yes — volunteers get their own console limited to texting, calling and doors, enforced on the server, not just hidden in the interface.
Does it replace VAN?
It consolidates the voter CRM, targeting, field, and communications work campaigns usually spread across several vendors.
Which AI models do I get?
Renegade supports Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok. Operative uses Claude; Kitchen Cabinet adds the model picker; War Cabinet sends the question to the models currently available to your organization and synthesizes their labeled responses.
What happens to my campaign data?
It's yours. Row-level security keeps every account limited to its own data — enforced at the data layer and tested against production every 4 hours. We don't sell it and we don't share it across campaigns.
Can a local campaign afford this?
Plans start at $500/month, month to month — less than most consultants bill for a week.
What does it actually cost to send texts and email?
Messaging is billed separately from your plan, at the same flat rates on every tier: 2¢ per SMS segment (160 characters; 70 with emoji), 10¢ per photo MMS, 15¢ per video text — the same whether you send it yourself or our team runs the send. Texting also has a $99 one-time setup per committee (10DLC brand and campaign registration and Campaign Verify) and a $19 monthly line fee for your texting number, plus $3 a month for any additional number you hold. Email is a monthly tier by list size, from $25/mo at 500 contacts to $425/mo at 50,000, with 12 sends a month to your full list included and $2 per 1,000 emails beyond that. A text campaign send is charged when it starts, for every number on it that hasn't opted out, whether or not each text is sent or delivered. The line fee is charged each month you hold a number. The composer shows the cost before it goes out.

Yes. Pick one of 20 designer templates and our team brands it to your campaign, wires the signup forms into your CRM, and hosts it — included with Kitchen Cabinet and War Cabinet. Every signup lands on the same voter record your field and texting programs use.
Can volunteers knock doors with this?
Yes — the walk app runs on their phone: cut turf on a live map, assign walk lists, and log door results, with race-safe batching so two volunteers never work the same door. Knock in a dead zone and results save on the device, then sync when they are back on signal.
